FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Common questions about our paralegal scope, USCIS forms, and bilingual service.

Is Prime Immigration Office a law firm?

No. Prime Immigration Office is a paralegal service — we prepare USCIS documents under the client's direction. We are not a law firm, we do not provide legal advice, and we do not represent clients. For legal advice, consult an attorney licensed in Texas or a DOJ-accredited representative.

Which USCIS forms does Prime prepare?

We prepare the forms most commonly needed by Brazilians in the U.S.: I-130 (family petition), I-485 (adjustment of status), N-400 (naturalization), I-765 (employment authorization), I-131 (advance parole), I-751 (removal of conditions), among others. Choosing the right form for your situation should be done by a licensed attorney.

Do you serve Brazilians outside of Texas?

Yes. Our office is in McKinney, TX, but we serve Brazilians in every U.S. state. Service is provided in Portuguese and English, in person or remotely.

Can I file an immigration case with an ITIN?

Yes, several USCIS forms can be filed by people who only have an ITIN. Eligibility depends on the type of petition and immigration status. We recommend consulting a licensed attorney to confirm the strategy that fits your situation best.

What is the difference between an immigration attorney and a paralegal?

An immigration attorney is licensed by a state bar (in Texas, the State Bar of Texas), can give legal advice, choose strategy, and represent the client before USCIS, EOIR, and the courts. A paralegal prepares documents under direction — does not give legal advice and does not represent the client. Prime Immigration Office is a paralegal service.
