FAQ — Services

Frequently asked questions

Difference between paralegal and attorney, scope, combos, timelines, and payments.

What is the difference between what Prime does and what an attorney does?

An attorney licensed in any US state can give legal advice, choose strategy, decide which form applies, and represent the client before USCIS, EOIR, and the courts. A paralegal — like Prime — prepares documents after the client (or their attorney) has decided which form to use and which strategy to follow. We recommend an initial consultation with an attorney in any case of any complexity.

Do you prepare I-130 and I-485 at the same time (concurrent filing)?

Yes, we prepare both packages together when that is the strategy chosen by the client or their attorney. The decision between concurrent and sequential filing must be made by a licensed attorney.

Do I need an attorney to use Prime?

It is not required, but we strongly recommend that every immigration situation be evaluated by an attorney before filing. Prime operates in the document-preparation phase — not in the strategic phase.

How long does Prime take to prepare an I-485 package?

Document preparation time varies with documentation volume and the client's readiness to provide materials. Typically 2 to 4 weeks after receiving all documentation. USCIS processing time is separate and published at uscis.gov/processing-times.

Do you serve Brazilians who live outside of Texas?

Yes. Remote service available for all 50 states. Documentation is collected via secure portal and guidance calls are conducted in Portuguese or English.

Do you offer an approval guarantee?

No. No company can guarantee USCIS approval — anyone who promises that is engaged in unauthorized practice of law or fraud. Prime guarantees only its document-preparation work to USCIS standards.

Can I use Prime if I only have an ITIN, no SSN?

Several USCIS forms are accessible to people who only have an ITIN. Confirm eligibility for your specific form with a licensed attorney.

How do payments work? Do you collect the USCIS fee?

We bill our document-preparation fee separately from the USCIS fee. The USCIS fee is paid directly to USCIS by check, money order, or online payment. We accept wire transfer, card, and boleto (for clients in Brazil during the pre-U.S. phase).

Do you charge per form or per combo?

We charge per combo — a complete package that includes all forms needed for the intended outcome. More economical than hiring form-by-form. Official USCIS fees are paid separately directly to the government.

Do you handle asylum, VAWA, EB-5, or Court Motions cases?

Asylum, VAWA, T, U, SIJS, TPS, and EB visas — we prepare documentation and organize evidence; strategy and representation require a licensed attorney. For Motions, Waivers, and court (EOIR) proceedings, we work under supervision of a partner licensed attorney who signs the filings. We are not a law firm.

Do you serve clients in every U.S. state?

Yes. We serve Brazilians in all 50 states, online and via WhatsApp. Physical documents arrive by mail. Physical operation in McKinney, TX.

How much does each combo cost?

Price varies with complexity, number of dependents, and payment modality (lump sum vs. installments). Personalized quote provided at the free 15-min consultation. Standalone Paralegal Meeting costs $150 — 30 min online, with no commitment to engagement.

How long does it take to get a response after I request contact?

Within 4 business hours (Mon–Fri, 9am–6pm CT). Messages outside that window are answered the next business day.

Can I pay in installments?

Yes. Most combos offer down payment + monthly installments (ranging from 1x to 12x depending on the service). Lump-sum payments receive a discount. Details at the consultation.
